One of the key components of tuning your vehicle with SCT software is the need for your vehicle's PCM code. On Ecoboost vehicles, this is achieved by simply plugging your handheld into your vehicle's OBD-2 port, navigating to "VEHICLE INFORMATION" and copying the 7-alphanumeric code into your tuning request form.
For Mustangs, it's a bit more involved, but still easily accessible.
1987-2004 Mustangs:
The Mustang Computer Coding is found on the PCM which is located on 1987 to 2004 Mustangs on the Passenger Side (RH) of the vehicle behind the Side Kick Panel. Below are two example images from our 1998 Mustang GT: one showing the RH kick panel removed with computer/wiring exposed, second showing a close up of the computer code = DBZ2
On 2011-14 Mustangs, the PCM is located next to the fuse box in the engine bay:
On 2015+ Mustangs, the PCM is located beneath the fuse box in the engine bay:
The 'PCM number' we need for tuning purposes is labeled 'H/W.'
