1) Place firmware file onto your SD card
Update by using USB to nGauge connection:
Connect nGauge to PC via USB cable.
Go to "Settings > USB SD" in your nGauge menus. nGauge should then be recognized as a drive by your PC.
The file MUST be named "FIRMWARE-XXX.ng" where XXX denotes the version number (e.g. 178). Rename the file if and only if its name is incorrect. Do not append extra characters!
Place the firmware file on the root of your SD Card. Older firmware files can stay
Proceed to Step 2.
Update by using SD Card inserted into PC (if you have a microSD adapter):
Remove SD Card from nGauge and insert into appropriate adapter to connect to PC.
The file MUST be named "FIRMWARE-XXX.ng" where XXX denotes the version number (e.g. 178). Rename the file if and only if its name is incorrect. Do not append extra characters!
Place the firmware file on the root of your SD Card. Older firmware files can stay.
Remove the SD Card from your computer and insert it into your powered-down nGauge.
Apply power to the nGauge.
Proceed to Step 2.
2) Update the firmware via "Diagnostics > Settings > Update from SD". Wait for process to complete.
3) New Firmware version should be displayed in "Diagnostics > Settings > Device Info".
